Hello & thankyou for taking the time to read my message at this busy time of year. Over the last eighteen months or so the committee has been working very hard to raise the profile of our club, with constant improvements to the web site and with youtube hits & facebook numbers increasing, we are making progress, we still have a long way to go but we will get there.
I must take this opportunity to thank MDS Performance for being our major sponsor over the last year & also to Activity Playgrounds, Riverside Racing, Stuckeys & Coxys for their continued support of the club. So remember to support those who support you.
I must also thank the club committee for the many hours they have contributed to the club & the help they have given me. This year the committee put a lot of time into plans for a club reunion. Unfortunately we just picked the wrong date, with many people wanting to attend but unable to for a variety of reasons so we have rescheduled the event for early 2017 to celebrate 25 years of the club. As part of the ground work for  the reunion we have tracked down a lot of the past members & tracked down several of the old cars.  By rescheduling this far ahead it will allow us to continue tracking down more of our past competitors and their supporters.

Congratulations to Steve Howard who won his third club championship this year and again it was decided at the last round. Congratulations also to the other members who competed this year.
On to 2016. We plan to reintroduce a class for more standard cars next year that will be very similar to the floorpan class from about ten years ago and the rules for this class will be in the competition section of the website very soon. So the spaceframe cars, the more standard cars, the 1600cc cars & the 2 litre turbo cars will all compete for outright honours and compete for their own class win. We have decided to use the existing records for the floorpan class as the starting point for the new class & all the class records will be on the website shortly. The 2016 CAMS rules are now on the CAMS website, so please read them along with the general requirements & ensure that your car is compliant.
After the success of our visits to MDS Performance and Whitehorse industries in 2015 we will be changing the format of the general meetings to have less meeting & more activities such as guest speakers, videos, technical demonstrations and visits to businesses, so if anybody has somewhere in mind that they would like to visit or something they want to learn more about, talk to one of the committee members and we will see if we can make it happen. Remember this is your club so please be part of it.

The club is organising to have a presence at the Winton sprint on February 21. This is two weeks before the first round of our 2016 club championship to be held at Winton, which reportedly will have been resurfaced by early February, so it will be a chance to get your eye in and give the car a run. I know some of our members are content doing sprints so we want to encourage them to participate & enjoy their cars & some of the committee will be attending to support those competing & to attract new members. As I mentioned, the first round of the 2016 club championship will be at Winton on March 5-6 & this will not be a club championship round for the big Sports Sedans so we want to attract as many two litre cars as possible to develop this round as a high profile start to our season. The rest of the race calendar will closely follow this year's six round series. The dates are as follows.

Round 1   Winton           March 5-6

Round 2   Phillip Island  April 30-May 1

Round 3   Sandown        May 21-22

Round 4   Winton           September 3-4

Round 5   Phillip Island  October29-30

Round 6   Phillip Island  November26-27

The first general meeting will be on February 2.

I hope you all have a happy and safe Christmas & look forward to catching up with you all in the new year.
