Tony  Claringbold Datsun 1600 Update - Ex Peter Ruyg car

Work on my car has resumed but for a variety of reasons later than first planned.(Current Planned completion date mid 2015)

The car as everyone knows was Peter Ruyg’s and as far as I can gather, has done little work since his passing. When I bought it, we identified that a number of upgrades needed to occur before I would race it.

Upgrades

    • We have replaced cage with one from Trackart, mounted a pedal box, a new seat and altered the position of the steering column and fitted a demountable wheel.
    • Upgraded Master cylinders and fitted Speedflow lines and hose ends for brake and clutch.
    • New race radiator and integrated oil cooler.
    • New set of extractors.


Still to happen but should be finished by end on April

    • Rack and pinion steering with electric assist.
    • Lower overall height 100mm with race rear end with revisions to underpinnings to suit.
    • New shocks, springs, and brakes.
    • Some wiring, upgraded motec and internal paint.
    • Revisions to flares and front air dam.
    • New rims and tyres.


  Down the track and budget allowing, a vinyl wrap and a Les Collins engine and gearbox.
